Ireland - Wild Atlantic Way

The walls of Staigue Fort are 4 metres thick and it encloses an area 30m in diameter. It was probably owned by a very wealthy chieftain and housed his family and servants with the walls providing extra security. The view from the wall up the hill (bottom photo) shows the long haired woolly sheep you see everywhere around here.
